Join Winding Waters Rafting & Laura DeFreitas in a very special opportunity to practice yoga on the beautiful white sand beaches of the Salmon River, Idaho. The Salmon River offers a perfect setting for reconnecting with Self, Mother Nature, friends and family. Experience the calm pools, exhilarating rapids, magnificent Pacific Northwest scenery and the rich cultural history of this incredible river canyon. Daily yoga classes on this retreat will bring balance and relief to key areas involved in this outdoor adventure while cultivating the mindfulness needed to successfully and safely negotiate the river. No previous yoga or rafting experience required.
1 or 2 Yoga sessions daily, 1st nights lodging in Clarkston, WA at the Quality Inn(Double Occupancy), transportation to and from the river, expert and knowledgeable river guides, all river equipment, all meals beginning with breakfast on first day and lunch on last day, tents and sleeping pads.
Day 0 Arrival Day: (August 21st) Arrive at the Quality Inn in Clarkston, WA where lodging is included in your trip cost. Attend 6pm pre-trip meeting to discuss trip logistics, meet group members and check out river bags to pack your things into for the trip. Dinner is on your own this evening.
Day 1 Launch Day: Breakfast at the hotel then load into the WWRE van for the scenic drive to the launch site. Meet your guides and after a brief safety talk load into the rafts and begin your down river adventure. Lunch will be served riverside today. Arrive in Camp around 3pm. Evening yoga and meditation session with Laura.
Day 2 thru 4 River Days: Awake to the smell of coffee floating through the air. Enjoy a nutritious breakfast and begin your day with a yoga session. Board the rafts and be prepared for a relaxing and exciting day floating through the deep canyons of the Salmon River. Arrive in camp late in the afternoon after running the rapids, swimming in the calm pools, exploring a Chinese Rock House scanning the slopes for wildlife. Evening yoga and meditation session followed by dinner and relaxing around the campfire.
Day 5 River Day: (August 26th): Today begins the same as the rest. After a short float on the Salmon River we will come to the confluence with the Snake River where the longest free flowing river in the lower 48 joins the Snake River in Hells Canyon. Arrive at Heller Bar after lunch today where the WWRE Van will meet you to provide transport back to the Quality Inn where your vehicle will be waiting for you.
