Our licensed, professional guides have diverse backgrounds in the outdoor industry as whitewater rafting, fly fishing, backcountry ski guides/instructors, as well as, kayak instructors, school teachers, outdoor educators, and patrollers.

The Snake River through Hells Canyon, the Salmon River, the Grande Ronde River, and the Wallowa River watersheds truly are the “land of winding waters”. These rivers form a dramatic landscape in northeast Oregon and western Idaho. Our passion is sharing these dramatic, wild watersheds and witnessing the positive effects these experiences have on our guests.
Strong relationships throughout our river and local communities allow us to bring the very best of our region to every adventure. We practice low-impact, leave-no-trace techniques and prefer to leave a camp better than we found it, if possible. Additionally, we recycle all recyclables from each trip (including the leftover food…keep reading).
Through the years, we’ve compiled quite a list of items our guests have requested both prior to and following a trip with us. Our family-run white water rafting company takes great pride in rafting and working in Northeast Oregon’s river canyons, and can’t wait to show you the joy that rafting these beautiful rivers can bring. When you raft with us, you’ll leave technology behind and spend time in one of the true wild places in North America, reconnecting with yourself, family, and friends.
WWRE has been been rafting in the area for over 20 years with many seasoned and local guides. Whether you’re joining us for a 1 or 2-day jaunt or a 5-day excursion, we want you to gain a connection to this place we feel every time we step onto our rafts.
At Winding Waters River Expeditions, we offer all-inclusive guided white water rafting trips on 3 of North America’s most wild and revered white water rivers.Choose from a range of single and multi-day white water rafting trips on the Salmon River, Snake River through Hells Canyon, and the Grande Ronde River. All of our trips are fully guided and require no previous white water rafting experience.
