Winding Waters River Expeditions uses the best rafting equipment available in the industry. Through product testing and guest feedback, our boats are selected to provide the safest and most comfortable river experience for you.

The Gearboat

Our “workhorses” on the river
Carry all personal large dry bags, plus other gear.

Oar Boat (Passenger Boat)

Rowed by WWRE licensed guide
Carries up to 4-5 guests

Paddle Raft

Guided by WWRE licensed guide
Carries 6 to 8 guests (depending on size of boat)

Inflatable Kayak

Guided by 1 passenger (single kayaks)
Inflatable thwart provides excellent back support

Stand up Paddle Board

Paddled by 1 passenger (generally)
A TON of fun on the river! Please note that we only take these boards on the Salmon & Grande Ronde Rivers.

Winding Waters River Expeditions operates under special use permits, granted by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, the Umatilla National Forest, and Hells Canyon National Rec Area in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. Hells Canyon Whitewater and Winding Waters River Expeditions are licensed by the Oregon State Marine Board and the Idaho Outfitters and Guides Licensing Board. Hells Canyon Whitewater and Winding Waters River Expeditions are an equal opportunity recreation service provider and employer.
